    I love your style. This is the year that I decided to illustrate my journals on the fly. What do you carry with you for your work? Pens, mini H20 colors? I’m trying to get better at quick sketches of my life. Thanks for any advice on tools, etc.

  7. Thanks, Kim. I’m glad to hear you’re committing to sketching the world more!

    I don’t have any single kit I carry—sometimes just one pen and a folded up sheet of paper, sometimes a real sketchbook and a whole panoply of pens and pencils plus a watercolor set.

    I almost always do the colors after the fact, but sometimes still away from home. I drew these outside in the cold, then painted them in a nice warm bagel shop.
