Today I met Olivia and Jessica for brunch at Curly’s Vegetarian Lunch. Afterwards, Jess headed off to buy jeans with her sister while Livi and I went to a local chapter meeting of Sumi Ink Club at Little Cakes Gallery. We met lots of great folks there; it was wonderful painting with you all! Big thanks to Hanna for organizing, and to Coleman the dog and the pigeon in the bathroom for being so cool. You can see pictures of us inking here.
As they say at Little Cakes, “just so you are not mistaken we don’t make cakes we just like eating them.” Perhaps it put us in a mood though, as Livi and I promptly adjourned to Cake Shop to eat some cake.
I eat much faster than Livi (so do you; girl is slow). So to pass the time after my half of the cake had promptly disappeared, I made the drawing above. Only when I’d nearly finished did I realize it was Easter and I’d drawn a bunny. Ha. Then I made Olivia draw in my sketchbook. She did this wonderful little cartoon of a cat licking a spatula.
Last night was all about listening to Mahler’s 5th and Rückert Songs (Barbirolli) while I did my taxes. Tonight is all about listening to the Smiths while I organize my art supplies. What are you up to?
